I became aware of the Wellness Program after listening to a radio program about diabetes and what the complications are if the disease is out of hand and testimonies from individuals who were in the program previously. After listening to the radio program, I said to myself "maybe I should enroll and see what happens". My main concern at that time was my cholesterol levels. In January 2010 I registered and started the program. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Before starting the Wellness Program I used to feel fatigued and sleepy during the day. All my cholesterol levels were not within normal ranges and I was overweight. My blood sugar level was in the upper one hundreds. Three weeks into the program I knew I was in the right place and heading in the right direction. The fatigue and sleepiness was gone and I was losing weight and had more energy. With all the exercise and encouragement from my fellow classmates and staff at the Center, I knew I was going to make it, and I did!
In May 2010 I had my medical check-up in Honolulu. My lab results came back and I am very glad to say that I am back to normal. My cholesterol levels are within normal ranges, my HbA1c is normal and I lost 33 pounds. I am very thankful for all the wonderful help I received. Now I am trying to maintain what I have accomplished through the Wellness Center Program.
Thanks again,
